Spokane Food Not Bombs

We are raising funds on behalf of Food Not Bombs Spokane, a group of people trying to inspire the public to participate in changing society and focus our resources on solving problems like hunger, homelessness and poverty by sharing home cooked meals and donated goods with underserved people in Spokane. Our group routinely serves around 100+ people with great success as we have 15 volunteers (and growing) working with us preparing, cooking, and distributing the meals where it is most convenient for the people we serve. Our organization is based on showing that it is not necessary to waste so much of the food that we work so hard to grow by organizing a voluntary system of food recovery (soon to be expired) and redistribution of food. In the process of sharing these meals we need food ingredients, utensils, bowls, napkins, cleaning supplies, tables, etc. and when the right amount of donations don’t come in these supplies come out of our pockets week after week. We are asking for donations of any amount to help ease the cost of sharing meals with the people who come Saturday evenings hungry enough for multiple servings as it has been the only meal they have had all day. Food is a right, NOT a privilege.
