Spiking it for Travis 2018

As many of you know, I lost my younger brother and life long best friend almost five years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long without him and I miss him everyday. When Travis was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 12 it was a long painful battle. He masked that with his amazing strength. He endured brain surgeries, chemo, radiation, and more. He never complained and his strength and positivity was inspiring. During this time, Make-A-Wish provided Travis and our family with the trip of a lifetime, which provided Travis with a much needed boost during a difficult time and provided our family with memories that we will cherish forever, now more than ever. What Make-A-Wish did for Travis meant so much to him that he made it a priority to bring the same joy to other children. The summer after his Make-A-Wish trip he gathered friends and family to create a team to take part in a volley ball tournament that benefited Make-A-Wish. Every year since then, the "Spiking it for Travis" team has returned to the tournament to raise money to grant wishes to deserving children. We have now made it our mission to continue to give back to these deserving children in Travis' honor, as we know he would be doing if he was still here with us today physically (not just in our hearts!).  This year, we will return to the beach on Sunday, June 3rd to honor his memory with heavy hearts to support an organization that was so close to his heart.
