Help Coach Derr Spike Kidney Cancer

Welcome friends!

We are asking you to please join us, our families and friends, in praying for, supporting, and UPLIFTING our mom, Cindy Derr during this most trying time of her life.

9 years ago this April, Cindy was diagnosed with Renal Cancer with a mass covering over 75% of her left kidney.  After a successful surgery and careful monitoring the cancer was considered gone!  WOOT!  WOOT!  Then this last summer, experiencing some of the same symptoms as the first round of cancer had shown, Cindy went it for a checkup and found that the renal cancer had spread to her liver and pancreas.  This news sucked....but she knew she couldn't be defeated.  She had to try and win again!  After all....a great volleyball coach always wants to win!  ;)

In addition to her cancer diagnosis, her trigeminal neuralgia that surfaced around the same time as the first cancer, came back in full force causing her extreme facial pain.  If you do not know what this horrid disease is, it is nicknamed "The Suicide Disease" and it is not wished upon anyone!  TN delivers electrical shocks through your face and is very debilitating.   God was definitely testing her.

But that didn't stop her from living!  Cindy continued to coach volleyball, attend her grandkids events, and work with both of these illnessed for months...yeah, she's tough!   But extreme physical pain daily was just too much.  The TN caused so much pain that she could not eat, talk, or function normally all day!  After news of the cancer growing, with support of her family, Cindy decided to take a leave of absense from work to focus on healing the cancer and ease the pain of the TN.  Within days the TN was in remission!   Another slash on the "W" side!

Cindy has been trying different healing methods since last summer and is determined to win this battle!   She   started working with a cancer Doctor she is very happy with and in January started a new treatment that she is hopeful will work!

For those of you that don't know Cindy, she was born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho and has lived in Clark Fork for most of her life.  She has coached volleyball for 30 years in the Clark Fork and Sandpoint communities and is a volleyball junkie!  In fact she coached both of her daughters (and many other girls) that went on to play college volleyball!   She has been an active part of both communities through the years and an avid sports supporter!  She loves the beach in the summer time, knitting, sewing, and spending time with her grand babies.

Cindy was hoping for a short leave of absense from work, but it looks like it will be longer than expected.  She will continue to fight until this cancer is gone!  This cancer needs to be red carded off the court!  This fund raising page was created to help her with any medical bills, expenses, or emergencies that may come about during this difficult time.   And most importantly to help with her medications that will help her "Spike" some kidney cancer ass!  Not being able to work is a curse and a blessing.    The cup is always half full...so we are focusing on the blessing part of not being able to work and are grateful that she can stay home to focus all her energy on healing.  We are hopeful that this account will help ease any financial stress that will come in the future.

We can not thank you enough for your prayers, healing thoughts, kind words, donations,  and support!   No amount is too large or small.   God Bless!  <3
