Spike and Dani medical expenses

Donation protected
We are gathering here to support Mark and Danette Gibson with unexpected medical expenses.  On January 9, Mark went in for a laproscopic surgery to remove a mass on his lung.  His surgeon determined that this was cancerous and removed the lower lobe of his right lung.  A stubborn air leak in his lung refused to heal requiring a second surgery on the 24th.  The surgeon was able to close the leak and Mark hopes to have his chest tube removed soon.  The constant pain of the needle in his lung for the past three weeks has taken a toll.

Mark will go into a rehab facility to help him regain his strength and improve his lung capacity.  Cancer treatment will be scheduled with his oncologist after he is stronger.

As many of you know, Mark is Danette's primary caregiver.  Danette is a lifelong diabetic living with memory loss.  Her doctor has given a referral for Danette to live in a memory unit at an assisted living facility.  One of the main challenges for her is that she does not remember that she needs help, but it important for her medical needs that she is in a safe environment with trained staff.

As you may imagine temporary care like this is very expensive and we are struggling to sort the medical care and expenses needed for our parents.  Our hope is that we can take the worry off Mark's shoulders so that he can rest and heal and they can be together again.

Thank you for your love, prayers and financial support.

Sincerely,
Allison and Hilarie
