Spencer was attacked

While we were celebrating the beginning of the new year, Spencer a sheltie was in his yard enjoying his day. Suzette heard a noise in the yard and found little spencer in the jaws of a pit bull that had gotten into the fenced area.  It was a foul ugly attack that left Spencer mauled, screaming in pain. He was rushed to the Vet ER. Things did not look good. XRAYS and some sutures were put in AND by the next day his pain was not responding to pain meds.  It looked bad.  It was. During follow up surgery the next day it was obvious that the damage was extensive. The muscles in his front leg were shredded. There were only 2 choices.  Euthanasia or amputation. Spencer's "mom" couldnt bare the thought of putting him down. She agreed to the amputation.
Suzette is a nurse who studied at the old Charity Hospital.  Shes dedicated to helping humans to heal but this has been too much for her bear alone.  Please let's help her at least cover all the medical costs. Shes an animal lover and Spencer was adopted by her when he needed a home.
