Spectrum Theatre Ensemble, based in Providence, Rhode Island, is a vibrant, up-and-coming theatre company comprised of neurodiverse artists. The company was founded in 2017 with the common belief that theatre provides a unique, collaborative venue for the understanding and inclusion of all, and that our society and culture are stronger for it. We produce relevant, high-quality productions. We also provide leading initiatives and sensory-friendly consulting with other organizations within the theatre industry and beyond. STE engages artists and audiences in developing social skills, empathy, and self-determination, as well as paving a path toward successful and meaningful professional careers.
STE was developed through an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant awarded to Artistic Director, Clay B. Martin, in partnership with Trinity Repertory Company. The Leadership University One-on-One Mentorship Grant was administered by Theatre Communications Group (TCG).

Theatre lovers and neurodiversity advocates everywhere: WE NEED YOUR HELP! Your donation will help us purchase the rights to these extraordinary, powerful scripts and ensure we have substantial production runs of each show. We'll also be using these funds to pay key crew members, purchase basic props, and develop marketing budgets for each production. No donation is too small in this effort! Ideally, we'd love to raise $10,000+ before we kick off rehearsals for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in early July.

The Hotel Plays premiered at Barnaby Castle in Providence, RI (Sept. '17) and toured at the 10th Annual Tennessee Williams International Theatre Festival in Provincetown, MA (Oct. '17). We're hoping to create more groundbreaking, inspiring theatrical experiences this year, and we know you can help us achieve this goal!
