At Spectra Art Space, we aim to support artists and provide a space that cultivates creativity through curated & open call contemporary art exhibitions, events, and detailed immersive experiences. We are owned and operated by 2 young women, who have a clear vision and love for what they do. Set with strong intention to inspire artists to grow as well as people who are not necessarily artists through a variety of events, art classes, lectures, and demos, in a beautiful and welcoming environment.

Our intention is to give space to flourishing underground & emerging creators and social disruptors, showcasing the creative presence in Denver in an accessible and fun way. We seek to provide a space for the community to come and express themselves. Spectra Art Space is determined to spark your curiosity and leave you inspired and excited about the Art and Music world. We are excited to see you in our incredible space!

Funds will be used to pay for operating costs to keep Spectra Art Space’s doors open and operating in the digital world through, and most importantly, after the pandemic of COVID-19.  Everything raised from this GoFundMe campaign will be used to supplement operating costs for March, April, and May 2020. Spectra Art Space generates most of our revenue from events, such as our in-house immersive art experiences, art show opening receptions, and classes, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer able to hold these types of events until the Stay-At-Home order is lifted from the City of Denver, and it is safe to hold large events once again.

About the Importance of DIY Spaces like Spectra: “Artists, DIY spaces, and groups add so much value to Denver and have made it the city we know and love. I can tell you first hand, it’s not easy to keep them open, and running, especially with rent on a continual slope upward in our beautiful city, but it IS worth it to try no matter what, we CAN NOT push artistic spaces like this out. I have learned in the nearly 2 years of running Spectra how important they REALLY are for so many people. I can’t even begin to explain how important our space has become for so many people: for the hundreds of artists who have come to love, be inspired by, and financially rely on our little space, for the thousands of people who walk through the doors and are inspired by the environment and the art, to the non-profits we fundraise for, the veterans we work with, and the handful of people who have said we have changed their life, or even saved their life. For these people, and for so many other reasons, spaces like Spectra and other DIY studios and groups ARE more important than most people realize and honestly more important then I realized when we opened. There is nothing else like DIY community and culture and campaigns like this will help keep them alive in growing cities.

We promise we won't give up on Spectra no matter how the climate changes, no matter how hard we have to work, or how little we make, because it has become so much more than “our dream” and turned into something powerful for so many people who inspire us to keep going. That being said it will take a community of people who also believe, and value, these spaces, and groups, to keep DIY alive in Denver. So please, consider donating, consider visiting a local gallery, art show, small shop, or play. The Spectra Art Space Team APPRECIATES YOU SO MUCH! A little really goes a long way, and if we all can support these spaces we won’t have to say farewell to a critical part of what makes Denver, and really any city, so wonderful." Thank you SO MUCH for your contribution, we love you!

Artist Testimonials :

"Spectra Art Space is a MAJOR GEM and resource for artists in Denver and worldwide.  I have been showing my art at Spectra for over 2 years now and have found an incredibly sweet, supportive, and hard-working community of artists.  My art career goals have been achieved by my work with Spectra and I keep being able to grow as an artist thanks to this INCREDIBLE resource in the Denver Art Scene. Whatever contribution you can give, it is worth it over and over again!"
-Blessings from, Grace Noel (artist/Team Spectra member)

"Spectra Art Space was the first gallery that gave me a chance to display my work in a gallery setting after I graduated from art school. This was a pivotal moment in my art career, since I genuinely felt like Sadie wanted to display my work in her gallery, a much more nourishing and hopeful feeling than what I felt from other galleries I was applying to at the time. Fast forward one year, and here we are today. Since that moment in time, Spectra has been a place that has always made me feel included and valued as an individual and an artist. To me, Spectra is this magical space that has become my community, my family, a place to build community, a place to listen to live music, a place to dance, build, learn, and create. Sadie is constantly pushing me to work a little harder and do a little bit more, reminding me that if we believe in ourselves, we truly can accomplish anything. In the summer of 2019, I began volunteering at Spectra, helping hang shows and create immersive art experiences such as Spookadelia, Spookadelia 2, and activating the Odyssey Stage for the Underground Music Showcase. Since day one, Spectra has been a huge supporter of my personal development as an artist and of my art collective, Pussayhaus. Since then, Sadie has given me the opportunity to work at the gallery and be a part of the core team at Spectra. I honestly can't imagine what my art career would look like without Spectra Art Space. During this time of reflection due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I've really come to terms with how important, and (dare I say) essential Spectra Art Space is to my wellbeing and livelihood. It would honestly break my heart and uproot my life if Spectra Art Space wasn't able to make it through this truly tough time, and I can promise, I am certainly not the only one."
