Aid Special Education In Moms Memory

Donation protected
My Mother, Susan Finkelstein, has passed away after battling with her illness for over seven years. Something she became extremely passionate about and fell in love with in her last few years of life, was the special education program of Higgins Middle School. This deep connection developed as I began as a permanent substitute teacher with this program when I was home in my soccer offseason. I would come home everyday, sit with my mom in her room, and tell her stories about these amazing kids. I shared with her all of the joy and laughter they gave to me every day. We spoke about how much they have taught me about life and what it truly means to be a good person. Although she was physically unable to go and visit them herself, she often bought pizza for the entire program on a Friday just to provide a few extra smiles. They would write her thank you notes and draw pictures, which in return gave her more than anyone will ever know. I would tell her how much the kids enjoyed it and she would always say I wish I could do even more. One of her last wishes before she passed, was to give all donations and fundraising in her honor to the Special Education program of Higgins Middle School (and Peabody Public Schools' Special Education Programs). This wish speaks volumes to the type of person my mother was and I need your help to help fulfill this wish. She would want me to reiterate that this is not for her, but for these beautiful and amazing children. She was the most selfless human being I have ever met, and I ask you in her honor to exhibit this characteristic and donate.
