Special Fundraiser for Great Lakes Region Clubs

Help Save the Cat Fancy in the Great Lakes Region
CFA made a hard decision last week to protect our fanciers and public. This decision was the right thing to do, but it does not come without cost.
Due to the COVID virus, all shows licensed by CFA between 16 March and 31 May have been cancelled. For our region, this means that 6 Allbreed clubs have been directly impacted. It also means that livelihoods associated with these shows, such as show services, photography, entry clerking, and vendors are impacted as well.
Putting on shows is a very expensive undertaking. And it is not a business, but a labor of love for our fancy, our cats, and our CFA community. Many clubs do this on a shoestring budget to keep costs as low as possible to assure we can provide top value to our exhibitors. This means our clubs have no large reserves for disasters such as this one.
Much of the monies that the clubs have already spent on these now-cancelled shows cannot be recouped. Examples include:
· non refundable show hall deposits
· awards costs
· rental costs
· advertisement
just to name a few!
All donations will be sent directly to the Great Lakes Region treasury and will be distributed by the region to the affected regional clubs who can demonstrate their financial impacts. We need your help to keep these clubs solvent so we can continue our mission of providing shows for exhibitors and spectators in the future.
Please help. Every little bit is an investment in our region’s future.
