A Vision of Hope and Color


Imagine a school where each color represents a step toward healing, empowerment, and self-expression. This is the vision behind the School of Color, a safe learning space for children at Celecho Orphanage, designed to educate, inspire, and uplift.

Meet the Founder:

Julie Schindler, founder of SPEAKUp in COLOR, is a disabled mom driven by her passion for helping children overcome trauma, express their emotions, and find their voices using COLOR. In collaboration with the Celecho Orphanage in Zambia, she has transformed this vision into an impactful, community-centered mission.

Why the School of Color is Needed

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty: In Zambia education is key to overcoming poverty, but local resources are limited. With a permanent school, children at Celecho will have the dedicated space and tools they need to learn, grow, and pursue dreams beyond survival.

Healing through Education and SEL: Using Social Emotional Learning (SEL) methods, the School of Color will equip children with critical emotional tools, supporting their personal development alongside their academic education.

A Lasting Legacy: This school will not only serve today’s children but future generations, creating a self-sustaining community resource for years to come.

Goal: $80,000 to cover foundational costs, architectural blueprint, structural build-out, and essential resources. Each dollar supports a tangible step in building and equipping this life-changing space.

Your contribution will directly fund:

Foundation and Structure: $35,000 for land preparation, foundation blocks, walls, and roofing.

Classroom and Library Setup: $20,000 for desks, chairs, shelving, and library resources.

Computer Lab and School Supplies: $15,000 to provide computer lab equipment, books, and essential school supplies.

Teacher and Staff Training: $10,000 for hiring, training, and ongoing support for educators and emotional wellness facilitators.

“Your Dollar, Your Impact”: Donation Tiers

Support a Foundation Block: $1 per block; help us lay 7,000 blocks to secure our land & property boarder.

Sponsor a Desk: $50 will provide a desk, giving children a place to learn and grow.

Build a Classroom: $1,000 sponsors an entire classroom’s setup, complete with desks, shelving, and supplies.

Empower with Technology: $5,000 will sponsor our computer lab, giving children access to digital resources and opening doors to future opportunities.

Updates and Community Impact: As we work towards this goal, we’ll share regular updates on construction progress, children’s stories, and milestones achieved. Follow along as we transform each donation into a brick, a book, or a moment of learning for our children.
