Spayathon Puerto Rico - Spring 2020

It’s that time of year again - Spayathon!! We will be returning for Spring 2020 clinic in Puerto Rico. 

We are two Veterinary Technicians looking to make a positive impact with the animals of Puerto Rico that were impacted by recent hurricanes. We are volunteering for ViDAS (International Veterinarians Dedicated to Animal Health) spring 2020 spay/neuter clinic where surgery and vaccines are free!

Donations made to this fundraiser will pay for ground supplies used at the clinic and traveling expenses. We are volunteering our time to work from February 19th to 28th with a goal of sterilizing over 3,2000 animals.

Toni has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2013. In 2017, she volunteered for ViDAS in Mexico and helped spay/neuter over 1,000 animals!

Brittany has been a Vet Tech for 3.5 years. She volunteered along with Toni for ViDAS spring 2019 clinic to help spay/neuter and vaccinate over 3,400 animals!

“Our goal is to assist in reducing the number of dogs and cats living on the streets in Puerto Rico. Since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in November of 2017, pet overpopulation has become an increasing problem and there have been concerns that public health will decline with more dogs and cats contracting rabies on the island. There is a strong need for sterilization and vaccination of street animals all across Puerto Rico to prevent animal suffering and better public health over all. During The Spayathon, all spay and neuter surgeries will be provided for free and all animals sterilized will be provided free rabies vaccinations as well as free leptosporosis vaccinations for dogs and free distemper vaccinations for cats.”
