Please help Jen and Brittany achieve their goal to spay/neuter and vaccinate 50+ dogs in Jinja, Uganda!!
Jen and Brittany have always had a dream to set up a spay and neuter clinic in a place that truly needs it. After some planning and working alongside some like-minded locals, we are set out to make it happen this July!!
Jen is an animal advocate here in the Denver area who trains dogs and set up her own nonprofit, Simba's Pride. She not only runs her organization that works tirelessly to help TNR cats, but she also helps a local rescue and their dogs in her spare time!
Jen and I will be traveling to my husband's home village in Bujagali, Uganda, come July, where we will hold a two-day sterilization and vaccination clinic. We are partnering with a local NGO-registered rescue (Jinja Dog Rescue Team) run by Stellah, who has worked very hard to try and independently reduce the number of unwanted dogs in the Jinja area. Stellah has singlehandedly helped hundreds of dogs by working with the local vet to set up these clinics, capture and nurture sick and wounded strays, as well as rehoming them to loving families.
Not only is there a huge number of street dogs with no home, but those that do have families do not have the means to care for them in the ways of vaccination and sterilization. This leads to the risk of unwanted breeding and reproducing of puppies, as well as the spreading of rabies.
Rabies is a big issue within the country, and the government's way of dealing with this and the overpopulation issue is to mass poison dogs! They frequently leave out poisoned meat that kills thousands of innocent animals annually. They die a horribly painful and unnecessary death!
We hope to help by educating pet owners, offering free services to those who need it most, as well as treating homeless dogs in the area.
Please, please help make a small difference for these wonderful animals, people, and beautiful village.
Any extra donations will be used to help fund future spay and neuter clinics with Stellah and her rescue. If anyone is interested in learning more or helping her mission on an ongoing basis, please check out her FB/Insta page and follow her stories.
Jen is able to offer tax-deductible receipts for any donations made. Here is a link to her website to learn more as well.
Thank you again!!
Thank you to all our friends and family who are taking the time to read this and who have helped with any of our wild animal pleas before.
