Spay and Neuter Trip to Ooty, India

Donation protected

A published article from the Australian Veterinary Journal by my senior, Steph - about her similar experience in Chiang Mai, Thailand last year - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZRfjt-pVz6Lx3fl4DcVbqJlEkzJQBt9M/view?usp=sharing

Hi Everyone, I am very pleased to announce that I was being elected to go to Ooty, India with 9 other veterinary students by our very own Vet School - Murdoch University, Western Australia in January next year as a voluntary team to execute the spay-and-neuter program for the local stray animals.
Rabies has been a very prominent disease in India, Thailand, Indonesia and other Southeastern Asian countries, it is therefore essential for us veterinary personnels to help eliminate the risk of outbreaks in conjunction with the human health sector.
Given my past experiences working with dogs and cats, horses, wildlife and other domestic animals, I have developed a genuine interest and knowledge across all species and my surgical skills have been constantly maturing and sharpening throughout this year. With no doubt, I have a strong faith that this is now the best time for me to step up and join the international communities working with real world problems.
Helping out in rural communities has been one of my dreams in becoming a veterinarian. Undoubtedly there are potential dangers and health hazards, but over the years veterinary volunteers had been proven safe in the area and the invaluable experiences outweighed every worry. We will remain professional and conscientious throughout the trip, not only taking care of the animals but also each other during the trip.
I would really appreciate if you can show me your support by helping with raising the sum of money that I will be supporting myself in terms of flight tickets and accomodation. Breakdown of expenses will be shown in the near future and any donations in excess will be offered to the Worldwide Veterinary Services for purchase of more advanced surgical equipment for the sake of the better recovery of the animals. This trip is not only about my personal development, more importantly the main purpose of why I decided to put this out is about getting your engagement and raising people's awareness regarding some of the world health problems. This is definitely neither the only One Health problem that we are currently facing nor me myself having the responsibility to solve these problems. With all your support and encouragment that I will be having, I will spare no effort in return to help every single animal or person in need on behalf of my surveillance and executing team. Any form of support and donations are absolutely welcomed, as every dollar or act means so much to me. Thank you in advance.
