Sparrow's Nest Theater Well Fund
Donation protected
Sparrow's Nest Theater is a community theater located in the rural foothills of Western Maine. We put on approximately four productions a year, two "adult" plays and two "children's" plays. The "adult" plays describe more complex and difficult issues and have casts and audiences who are older and more mature. The "children's" plays, by contrast, deal with more lighthearted, heartwarming stories, often based off of favorite children's books and movies. The casts of these productions are child-and-teen-heavy. We have also begun summer theater camps for children and teens recently (2017 was the first year).
We are a rural theater and currently only have a dug well for water. Unfortunately, this means that during the summer months, which can get hot in Maine, the well often runs dry. As we often have rehearsals and performances several times a week, having no water can be difficult. We are hoping to raise enough money to pay for a drilled well. We would, of course, like to do this as soon as possible, though we realize it may take some time. We know that there are many people out there who have enjoyed our productions, and hope that everyone who can manage it will donate a few dollars.
We hope to be adding some new activities at the theater and it will be a lot easier if we have constant access to water.
We invite anyone who is interested to attend one of our productions or, if you're ages 6-18, to apply to one of our summer theater camps. We are also always looking for new actors and backstage people alike!
Thank you for donating to our well fund and we hope to see you at the Nest soon! You can also reach us on Facebook or at our website.
