Spare a Dime, For the Climb

Hi, my name is Shayla Witehira. In May 2014 my Aunty Renee and I will be travelling to Nepal to work as volunteers with the International Volunteer Headquarters.


We will be working in an Orphanage where we will spend time with the children in their day to day lives for five months.


My main reasons for wanting to go on this trip are;
1. My future career ambitions are to work in child care; I believe having this opportunity straight out of school will be a brilliant step in the right direction for me
2. The experience. I don't believe there will be anything that could come close to what this experience is going to give me. I am honoured to have this opportunity and am looking forward to how this will change and shape my life



We have set up Give a Dime, For the Climb as we need help raising money for the trip. The airfares and program costs alone for the two of us will be $5600. Adding to this expense we also have to consider costs for our visa's, vaccinations, travel insurance and enough money to live while we are both their for the 5 months.
