General Carl Spaatz USAAC Museum Build-Out

General Spaatz, a native of Boyertown, PA, was a leading proponent of air power before, during, and after WWII. He developed the strategic bombing campaign for the 8th Army Air Force and became the first commandant of the Air Force when it split from the Army in 1947. We dedicate this museum to Gen. Spaatz and to all members of our armed forces, both past and present, to preserve their memory and keep the flame alive.

Our mission is to create unique interactive exhibits based on the achievements of Gen. Spaatz and the 8th Army Air Force to attract both regional and national visitors to the museum.

▶︎ We want visitors to have the sense of "being there" rather than viewing static exhibits of memorabilia.

▶︎ We will have "cast members" in period uniforms, using idioms of the day and knowledge of the equipment used in a bomber.

▶︎ We will feature walk-through exhibits and recreations with "sensory impact."

▶︎ We will enable visitors to attend a pre-flight mission briefing, be in the cockpit, and act as waist gunners and bombardiers.

▶︎ We will demonstrate how airmen overcame the challenges of the air war and its environment.
