This is my father Andy Nelson he was 63 years old he was born in Arizona and came to Tulsa, Ok. over 45 years ago working all his life as a shoe repair man all around the Tulsa area. He was a generous, hardworking, loving man whom many loved but he had a hard life. He suffered from mental illness that led to alcoholism 
on and off all his life and became homeless on and off again. He recently became homeless once again. On his last round I tried desperately to get him to come stay with me as it was getting cold and he refused. If you knew him you knew why he was stubborn and prideful. I kept calling and calling desperately as the Temps were quickly dropping here in Oklahoma to dangerous levels trying to hopefully convince him to come stay with me, he never answered. His boss had also tried to get him to seek shelter he declined. On Saturday afternoon I got the call I didn't want to hear his boss had found his body under a bridge. He had succumbed to the elements. I have set up this go fund me in an effort to have his body shipped back to the place he loved most the place he called home Arizona. All proceeds will be used for funeral related expenses and gas for me to drive there and back. I feel so responsible... I should have done more. If anyone could please donate if only $1 to give him the dignity and respect he deserves to get him back home. I as well as he would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. And please if you see any homeless person take the time to check on them and urge them to get out of the elements.
