<div>Ce jeudi 16 juillet un orage d'une ampleur exceptionnelle est parvenu jusqu'aux communes de Blond, Mortemart, Vaulry et alentours, ravageant tout sur son passage avec des grêlons allant jusqu'à 5 cm de diamètre. Pendant 20 minutes les champs, arbres fruitiers et serres furent abattus par les rafales continues de ces grêlons, ne laissant que quelques feuilles sur les branches asséchées des arbres qui peinaient à survivre aux canicules des derniers jours.

<div>Cet orage aurait pu être un arrosage bienvenu qui aurait permis d'économiser sur les ressources en eau déjà fortement amoindries par les canicules à répétition depuis le début mai. Malheureusement, il marquera la fragilité des écosystèmes locaux face au changement climatique.

<div>Après son passage l'étendue des dégâts est considérable, Simon et Fanny n'auront pas de quoi finir la saison et seront peut-être même obligés de compléter leurs revenus. Se rajoute à cela le choix du préfet de ne pas déclarer cet évènement en tant que catastrophe naturelle due au changement climatique.
