<div>Following the evacuation of Afghanistan in late August of 2021, 55,000 Afghan families were housed on military bases in the US, awaiting housing opportunities. While some individuals and families were successfully resettled in the United States, many of them had to leave family members behind in Afghanistan. Fortunately, right here in the Southern Tier, in Endicott, NY, we are working to reunite a family.

<div>In 2022 we welcomed a family of 6 to the Southern Tier. However, the husband of the eldest daughter was unable to evacuate Afghanistan at that time. Now, through a private Sponsor Circle, we have been able to support reunification of the family. STAR, Southern Tier Afghan Resettlement group, was formed in November of 2021 to provide a home for Afghans evacuated from Kabul and the surrounding towns and villages. We have continued our efforts to support the reunification of the entire family.

<div>We aim to raise funds to help this individual rejoin with his wife and start anew.

<div>We actively raise money through donations to Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Binghamton, New York, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Any donation will help make an impact!  Your contributions will help us create a warm, inviting environment to receive the family in Endicott, New York.
