Southeast Asia Clean Water Project

PureAqua Global is a student run organization made up of Purdue University students with a mission of providing clean drinking water to impoverished villages across Southeast Asia and beyond. Purdue University Environmental and Ecological Engineering Professor Chad Jafvert, developed a water purification system that requires limited resources and enables villages to sustain the system long after volunteer assistance have gone. Krannert School of Management Professor Chad Allred organizes student groups to travel to these remote areas to implement the purification system. This summer, a group of students are traveling to Chiang Mai, Thailand with the goal of implementing 20 purification systems. This will provide 300 people with drinking water indefinitely. This one time GoFundMe is strictly for materials for this project at $5,000. We are then going to donate our time and money to travel to Chiang Mai, implement the systems, and educate the village leaders on how to sustain them. This is the first step in a long term development of a sustainable non-profit that would be able to monitor the systems, provide maintenance, and provide ongoing education. We are very passionate about this project and believe that it can save and change lives within local communities. All donations will go directly into material costs of the purification systems.
