South Texas Champion U18 Girl Soccer Regionals

After a long and challenging soccer season, this past weekend a group of teenage girls competed and were crowned the South Texas Champions for girls U18 soccer, allowing them to represent South Texas in the Southern Regional Championship against 12 other States. This is a significant accomplishment for these girls who mostly come from very humble backgrounds. Many of these girls struggle to pay for their soccer events and have jobs of their own to assist their families to fund the sport they love. So far, they have been able to attend their events from local playoffs, to district play, to the semi-finals, and the South Texas Championship. However this next event is far away, and will last 8 days.
The US Soccer Youth Southern Regional Championship will take place in Greenville, SC in mid-June. The girls have less than two weeks to raise the necessary funds to cover the costs for the trip.
It is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the girls to show the rest of the country the strength, skill, courage, and tenacity that symbolize girls’ soccer in south Texas.
They represent a small local soccer club with limited support and resources. The girls will have to pay their own way with help from friends, family, and hopefully contributions from generous persons interested in empowering girls to push themselves in driving their ultimate dream of being U18 Girls National Champions. They also have several fundraising events planned.
Here is where they need your help. The cost for hotels, travel, food, and coaching for the seven-day event comes to $1000 per player. There are a total of 18 girls on the roster that are hoping to make the trip.
Any donations, no matter the size, will be humbly and gratefully appreciated. Every little bit helps get them closer to raising the necessary funds to travel, compete and represent all of the U18 girls’ teams in South Texas and any young player that dreams of being part of something special and being called “Champions”.
