We work in the bar and restaurant service industry at SOUTH HOUSE in Jersey City. As you all know, the bar and restaurant had to close their doors due to a mandatory close ordered by the state of NJ and the City of Jersey City to contain the spread of the contagious Covid19 Virus. Most of the service staff makes their living on tipped wages to maintain their livelihood with basic essentials such as food and rent. For the past five years, we have become a strong knitted family and have always supported each other in all that we do, we are a team.
We've started this Gofundme page to lead the charge in the hopes of garnering as much financial support in this time of great need. I know, that we as a community, are all in the same struggle, to make ends meet, but if you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would be greatly appreciated!!
The funds donated will be evenly distributed amongst the tipped staff and will help in some capacity to keep a roof over their head and eat a warm healthy meal.
There is a famous expression: When the going gets tough, the tough get going – meaning when the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge. Let's come together and share a little, or a lot, to make sure that everyone who is in need gets through this challenging time in our country!
