Dear family, friends, and fellow animal lovers,

My name is Amber "AC" Covell and I am the Founder and President of Soulshine Wildlife Center.

For those of you who do not know me personally, I am someone who was born with a mission to help animals.  That being said, I have tried various outlets to fuel that passion, but kept feeling there was a specific niche waiting for me to take hold of.  A mixture of prayer and support guided me, and before long, the dream of starting a wildlife rehabilitation center began to transform into an attainable goal.

Soulshine Wildlife Center was legally recognized as a nonprofit corporation on October 2nd 2017, and has since obtained 501c3 tax exemption status as a public charity!  Next steps involve state required tasks and classes in order to be granted a Wildlife Rehabilitation Permit.  The goal is to be up and running by Spring 2018.

Wildlife rehabilitation consists of caring for injured and orphaned wildlife, with the ultimate objective being their release back to the wild. The wounded need a safe place to heal and the orphaned deserve a fair chance at survival.  During their time at Soulshine Wildlife Center, animals will either be housed in the indoor orphanage or in the pre-release outdoor enclosures.

Wildlife rehabilitators are not paid for their services nor do they receive government assistance.  As the Founder, President, and sole wildlife rehabilitator, I will be responsible for all of the costs associated with helping these essential beings.

The initial drive to raise donations is to purchase a building for the property, along with the materials to build indoor and outdoor enclosures.  These are obvious necessities in order to obtain a rehabilitation permit and must be intact prior to accepting any wildlife.  There will also be many reoccurring expenses that need to be budgeted for as well; vet bills, formula, bedding, medications, dietary supplements, kibble, bottles, food dishes, cleaning supplies, office materials, animal carriers, protective gloves, etcetera, can and will be quite costly.  Unfortunately, without donations, the cause does not have as impactful of an effect.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Soulshine Wildlife Center, for where there is passion for animals, there is hope for wildlife.  Thank you and God bless!

Direct donations can be made at any Fifth Third Bank, under account name: Soulshine Wildlife Center
