Souls (cortometraggio)

Plot: In a kingdom ruled by chaos, a knight must face a long journey in order to free it. After failing and dying, he awakens once more to finish his mission.

Setting: The short film is set in a small medieval village in Tuscany, Italy and its nearby wooded areas.

References: The short film’s narrative style and setting are inspired by the Dark Souls videogame and Berserk manga.

Director & crew: “Souls” director and screenwriter Cerri Yari is an Accademia del Cinema Toscana (ACT) student; “Souls” is his second work and the first as the only director. Both of these projects are nominated and presented at the 2022 edition of the Lucca Film Festival.

Production: “Souls” is an independent production, organised by the people who are part of the crew and who attend specialised courses in the subjects relating to the moviemaking field. Other collaborators include the historical re-enactment associations “Fratellanza del Lupo Grigio” and “Gruppo Storico di Ghivizzano”.
