Hi there, my name is Dan and I'm eighteen years old. I live in Epsom with my family and have been going to Sutton Vineyard Church for almost ten years now. I have recently finished my A levels and instead of going to university straight away, I've decided to take a different path.
In October I will be moving to Watford to start a new adventure in my life. I've been accepted onto a gap year course called Soul 61, a course run by Soul Survivor Watford church, who also put on the Soul Survivor summer events every year. Their course is focused on building up young leaders to develop their leadership abilities over ten months at their church. The course involves serving for three days a week in one of their ministry areas such as youth, events, AV and kids, as well as having two days of teaching from the many amazing staff and church members there. Their teaching focuses theology basics, ministry training, preaching preparation and many more topics.
The cost of the course is £6500, which is mostly the cost of living in Watford for 10 months. At the moment I have roughly half of that amount, but I will be contributing more myself to this fee as I earn more money from my job over the next couple of months. This is why I have decided to start a GoFundMe. I would love it if you would be able to donate and support me over the next ten months, to grow as a leader in the church as well in my faith in Jesus. It would mean so much to me for you to donate, whether it be big or small. All the money that is given will be used first to pay the remaining course fee, which is now at £3250, but will go down as I contribute more. After that it will be used in my expenses budget to pay for food and travel whilst I am there. Finally, if there is any money left over it will go to fund a mission trip or two. If you can't donate, I would love it if you could pray for me that over the next year God would work in me and through me so that I can learn what it means to be a leader as well as serve the community that I will become a part of.
