Funds for Fieldwork 17-18

Souderton Charter School was founded in 2000, rooted in a belief in collaboration, inclusive education, and experiential learning. Students and teachers actively seek out experts and opportunities to enhance their studies. Through engaging fieldwork experiences outside the school walls, students see history and science come alive. This exposes them to a wide variety of possible future careers, broadens perspectives, and, most importantly, makes school fun. Students learn best through connections to the larger world.


This year our seventh and eighth grade class is looking forward to participating in at least 15 different fieldwork experiences. These experiences will range from local visits to our senior center, to walking the halls of colonial mansions, to seeing NYC through the eyes of immigrants. The cost of these trips add up quickly, but they are invaluable experiences for our students. The average cost to participate in our fieldwork is about $400 per student. We are hoping to reduce (or eliminate!) this cost through our fundraising campaign.
