Sophia’s Trip to United Nations NYC

Hi! My name is Sophia and I’m a junior in high school. I’ve recently become a student member of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW). BPW is the oldest, largest organization for working women in the world. Founded in 1919 and in over 100 countries, BPW develops leadership potential of women and girls on all levels through education, advocacy, networking, mentoring programs and projects.
I have been invited to the 62nd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). BPW holds consultative status at the United Nations, and I will be mentored by some of the most influential women in the world. It will be held in New York City, March 10th to the 17th.
This is going to be a life-changing experience in many ways. I will be attending programs in which we discuss overcoming challenges for women around the world. I will learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and other international conventions that are the basis of law in many countries. It will help me prepare for college and will look awesome on my resume!
St. Vrain Valley School district is supporting me with a stipend but I still need an additional funding. I will be insanely grateful for any financial support you can contribute to send me to CSW.

BUDGET $1,450
$275 airfare
$525 for hotel ($75 a night for a shared room with 3 other ladies)
$200 for two extra registration fees, otherwise the rest of the conference is free
$150 Uber and subway costs
$300 for meals
