Sophia's Brain Surgery Expenses
Donation protected
Almost a year ago, my sister, SophiaHermosilla-Villanueva, had her first seizure in the middle of the night. She was rushed by ambulance to the hospital in which after numerous labs and neurological scans, she was diagnosed wth arteriovenous malformation (AVM). This "is an abnormal cluster of blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain or spine. It affects less than one percent of the population...The result is that AVMs can rupture and bleed into the brain. This can cause devastating neurological symptoms or even death.

Doctors prescribed medication to control the seizures in hopes that they would slow down the siezures. She continued to have a few every now and then. On December 7th, 2017, she had her first stroke. She is now hospitalized and scheduled for brain surgery on Tuesday, but continues to have seizures.
Due to the costly surgery and the one-year recovery period, my sister and her husband will be unable to work and are in need of donations to aid them in this time with medical bills, assistance with their beautiful 2-year-old twin boys and the wages lost during her surgery/recovery. Every little bit helps. My sister is a fighter and I know that she will get through this, with God by her side.
