Many of you know Sophia either through meeting her at the shop or stories about her, pictures and post where she is being her silly and funny self. She is the most amazing, smart, kind and outgoing child you will meet. Sophia is 8 years old. She is my God daughter she has 2 sisters Emely and Krystine who are 13 and 14. Sophia's mom is my best friend Maria, we have been friends all our lives. On August 10, 2021 it was Sophia's first day of school. She was so happy and excited to finally go back to school. After dropping her off at 8am Sophia's mother received a phone call at 11am saying Sophia had been hit in the head by a rock another child threw and had to be taken to the hospital. In the hospital the doctor said she was ok and didn’t need stitches but he decided to do a scan to make sure everything was ok. When the results came back the doctors told Sophia's mother that they found a large mass in Sophia's brain. A mother’s worst nightmare, Sophia's mom waited for other testing to be done and results to be in to determine what the doctors were going to do next. After much testing the doctors determined they were going do surgery to remove as much of this mass as they could. We prayed and prayed and begged God to take care of Sophia, to be the surgeon that day and it be a successful surgery and for her to be able to recuperate and be herself again. Sophia had brain surgery August 13, 2021 after 6 hours they were able to remove most of the tumor, but she will be having another surgery August 18, 2021. Sophia's parents have 3 girls and have done there best providing them with everything and they have done everything right. They aren’t working at the moment because they don’t want to leave her side who would? Sophia has a long road ahead of her to recover. They need help with rent, bills, groceries and other things they will need for Sophia.
