It is with extreme sadness and broken hearts that we mourn the loss of a great young man, Sonny Melton.
Sonny, 29, was a registered nurse from the small town of Big Sandy, Tennessee. His life was cut short Sunday night in the mass shooting in Las Vegas as he protected his wife, Heather. Sonny was one of the 58 people killed during the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

This fundraising effort is 100% for the Sonny Melton Scholarship Fund established by Apex Bank in his hometown of Big Sandy, TN. This will be dedicated to assisting graduating seniors in pursuit of a nursing career as he so dearly loved. Both his mother, Susan Melton and his wife, Heather Melton, will help direct the Fund. This GoFundMe page has been established to support this noble effort by Susan Melton’s cousin, Mike Clayton.
