Sonia's Journey

Sonia Gonzalez is not only a strong woman, she is also an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She is well known for her Prison Ministry work and her contagious positive and upbeat personality. On Wednesday, January 28th she was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). Thursday the 29th her legs gave out on her, she passed out and was having trouble breathing; she was taken to the ER where she was dehydrated and was given antibiotics due to severe inflammation of her Lymph nodes.  On January 30th she was taken to Moffitt Cancer Center located in Tampa where she has been added to the donor list to have a Stem Cell Transplant after extensive Chemotherapy starting immediately.  Sunday February 1st she was admitted to the hospital due to trouble breathing, fatigue, nausea, and a lot of pain. February 2nd she had her pick line put into her chest and had a blood transfusion of two pints due to extremely low blood pressure.  Everything is moving really fast and the expenses are adding up. Her husband has taken emergency leave from work to be able to help her around the clock.  She starts her Chemotherapy Feburary 3, 2015 and things will get alot worse before they get better. We believe in God's promise that No weapon formed against us shall prosper. She is a Woman of God with peace and a tranquil heart and we ask that you keep her in your prayers constantly so that we can attack this with God's word and His Promises.
