Sonia Alegre’s Funeral

On June 14, 2019, at 9.55 P.M. She was hit by a car while crossing the street on Flamingo and Lindell in Las Vegas, Nevada. The person struck, was Sonia Alegre Pinedo. She was 63 years old. After fighting for her life for 35 days, she unfortunately passed away on July 19th 2019, at the intensive Care Unit of UMC hospital. She was an amazing woman with a very kind heart. She always made sure everyone was doing alright and would brighten up everyone’s mood. She was very strong and has had to deal with a lot in life, but she always pulled through. She was always there for us when we needed her most. She always tried to be very happy and would look at the bright side of things. She did not want this. She fought very hard for her life, but in the end was taken away from us. Even while in the ICU, even when she could not talk, due to being on a ventilator, she would communicate by mouthing words. She spoke about going back to Peru when she got out of the hospital. Spoke about being with her family and spending time with us. We are all very heartbroken and still cannot accept that this is real. She is leaving behind two daughters, 5 grandchildren and the rest of her family who loves her very much. She will continue to be in our hearts and will be with us in spirit. Since going back to Peru was what she wanted, we want to fulfill her wish. We will take her remains to Lima, the capital of Peru and her birthplace. We want nothing more than to do this for her, but due to the high cost of this and that the family does not have the sufficient funds, we ask the voluntary contribution of anyone that can help us fulfill the dying wish of Sonia Alegre Pinedo. We thank all of the generous and kind people who are willing to help us.

El 14 de Junio del 2019, a las 9.55 P.M. Fue atropellada por un auto mientras cruzaba la calle en Flamingo y Lindell en Las Vegas, Nevada. La persona atropellada, fue Sonia Alegre Pinedo. Ella tenía 63 años. Después de luchar por su vida durante 35 días, lamentablemente falleció el 19 de Julio del 2019, en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del hospital de UMC. Ella era una mujer increíble con un corazón muy amable. Ella siempre se aseguraba de que todos estuvieran bien y alegraba el ánimo de todos. Ella era muy fuerte y ha tenido que enfrentarse con muchas cosas en la vida, pero siempre se volvía a poner de pie. Ella siempre estuvo ahí para nosotros cuando más la necesitábamos. Ella siempre trataba de ser muy feliz y miraba el lado bueno de todo. Ella no quería esto. Ella luchó muy duro por su vida, pero al final, nos dejó. Incluso mientras estaba en la UCI, incluso cuando no podía hablar, debido a que estaba con un ventilador, se comunicaba moviendo los labios. Ella hablaba de regresar a Perú cuando saliera del hospital. Hablaba sobre estar con su familia y pasar tiempo con nosotros. Todos estamos muy desconsolados y todavía no podemos aceptar que esto sea real. Ella está dejando atrás a dos hijas, 5 nietos y el resto de su familia que la quiere mucho. Ella seguirá estando en nuestros corazones y estará con nosotros en espíritu. Como volver a Perú era lo que ella quería, queremos cumplir su deseo. Llevaremos sus restos a Lima, la capital del Perú y la ciudad donde nació. No queremos nada más que hacer esto por ella, pero debido al alto costo de esto y al hecho de que la familia no cuenta con los fondos suficientes, pedimos la contribución voluntaria de cualquiera que pueda ayudarnos a cumplir el último deseo de Sonia Alegre Pinedo.
