Songwriting with Ben Folds!

As some of you probably know, Ben Folds has been a musical hero of mine since I discovered Whatever And Ever, Amen by the Ben Folds Five in college as a budding musician. My roommate couldn’t believe I had never heard the album and we sat down and listened to the whole thing in its entirety (Thanks Joe!) I was floored to say the least, and I eventually went on to devour everything Ben Folds ever released, and he has since become one of my biggest influences as a songwriter.
Fast forward to 2018--based on a submission of two of my original songs, I was one of 15 people selected for a spot in a very small and exclusive songwriters workshop, led and mentored by none other than Ben Folds himself! During this 4-day workshop, taking place in March in the Ojai Desert, CA, songwriters are expected to compose 1-2 songs per day, to be presented twice daily for industry professionals, the other attendees, and Ben Folds himself. Throughout the day Ben also personally works with each attendee to better hone their daily material. The last day is dedicated to networking with music publishing and licensing executives.
This is an enormous opportunity that I am honored to have been chosen for, though like many great opportunities, it does come at a cost--$6000 to be specific. I am humbly reaching out to you--my friends, family, and amazing musical community to help me realize this incredible professional opportunity. The workshop runs from 3/19-3/22, and I am asking for any donation at all to help get me there. I know this is an enormous request and my gratitude to all of you is endless! Not just for your donations, but for all of your support and love over the years.
