SOLOMON'S MOOD; a film by Tryphena Wade

**UPDATE** SOLOMON'S MOOD was shot at the top of November 2022 in Los Angeles. I starred in the film and also served as Exectutive Producer (and writer...of course LOL). The film was directed by my good friend Nicole Moore-Joseph. We are currently in the final stages of editing before we begin submitting to festivals. SOLOMON'S MOOD is the story of two lovers who've not yet met. Using passages from the ancient Biblical text of Song of Solomon, we see their patient quest for love as their paths cross. Will they each recognize the other as "the one"? Is this the beginning of their love story?

SOLOMON’S MOOD matches the poetic and artistic nature of Love Jones and Sylvie's Love, with the added purity and sensuality of Song of Solomon. This isn't naive love. It is mature. It is pure. It is hopeful. It is persistent.

 

SOLOMON'S MOOD has been a labor of love for me. As an actor and consumer of media, I'm often left wanting when watching the industry's portrayal of love and romance, specifically between two Black characters. I had a strong desire to explore love from the perspective of two people who've not yet met, but know there is a love perfect for them.
