Solomon Islands fundraiser

In 2013 Nathan and I lived in the Solomon Islands and were blessed to be welcomed into a community who we now call family. We helped fundraise some money so they could start a small kindy school in their community as there were many children who weren't attending school. Now in 2017 the school is flourishing and is a blessing to the Kwaio Valley community. After attending Alynath Kindy school, the children are going on to attend the nearest primary school where they are at the top of their class. Teachers come from all over the Solomon Islands to watch how the teachers at Alynath Kindy School teach and have set up their classroom. Rose, the Supervisor at Alynath Kindy is an incredible leader and an inspiration to many, empowering women within the community. Parents are starting to see the value in education and all the young kids in the community want to attend the school.
However there is still a long way to go. There are still so many children who would like to attend the school, however the current classroom is at capacity. The school has very limited funds and the teachers often go without being paid.
We have seen God provide time and time again for the school thanks to the generosity of our church community, friends and family. We ask that you share our video and help us to raise some more funds so we can get this school to a place where it will be sustainable long-term.
The money we raise will assist with teachers salaries, but will also go towards buying some land for the school. This is to meet the requirements needed for the school to be registered by the government. Once the school is registered, the government will pay for the teachers salaries ongoing and will also provide resources. Thanks for your support and being on this journey with us!
