SollerWeb Christmas Appeal - Soller Foodbank

Donation protected
UPDATE 16th DECEMBER 2022 - YOU DID IT - £2,005 Sterling or approx 2,300 Euro!
Again Shirley and I are so grateful - you are all amazing. This will be a huge help to the Soller Foodbank / Caritas and in this time, just before Christmas, it will benefit so many local people. We are now going to turn off the ability to donate for this year and will be sending this money to the foodbank over the next couple of days. Once again our heartfelt thanks to you all and a very Merry Christmas and Happy 2023 to everyone. Shirley and Tracey xxx

Christmas is a time for sharing and giving and every year we ask our readers to help the local causes in the Soller Valley.

Back in 2020 we worked with the Soller Food Bank organised by Pep Morell. He works tirelessly for local families on behalf of Caritas in Soller and all the money collected goes to the local food bank for the benefit of families here in the Soller Valley.

In 2022 we would like to do exactly the same and raise as much money as possible for the needs of our local friends. 2022 has been a busy year and those employed have received their salaries. Most of them have debts and problems from the two previous Covid years when their income was limited. This is the reason why they are already using the Food Bank. Others cannot claim unemployment benefit this year as they are new to our system, they are stuck with no income here and not enough cash to get back ‘home’. They too are the recipients of the Food Bank.

Then there are families with no breadwinners due to sickness or addiction. The Food Bank looks after these families year-round.

We know that everyone is struggling this year and we are one of many organisations asking for donations. If you love Soller and associate it with being your ‘happy’ place please help us to make it ‘happy’ for locals in need. Every little helps and we will give all monies raised to the foodbank by Friday 16th December 2022 to help those who need it over Christmas. We will also let you know how much was raised on our SollerWeb facebook page.

Thank you
Shirley and Tracey
