Solar Setup for our Tiny Home Neighborhood

Deducible
Hey Rescue fam (and friends)! As you all know we are currently working on the development of our Senior Dog Neighborhood and have finished the first tiny home this last July.
Why are we building tiny homes for senior dogs?:

Our journey to develop an area dedicated to senior/hospice dogs started with the passing of my little dude, Curtis, who had been used as a breeding dog all his life. Curtis had a rough life, but as soon as I found out about him I knew I needed to be the one to rescue him. The original plan was to build out and remodel a shipping container and divide it into sections where a dog could pass in peace surrounded by those who loved them. Curtis' passing sparked a fire in me that realized just how important a dogs final moments are. We cleared the land, moved a 5 ton shipping container up a hill to overlook the rescue and started making arrangements for Curtis' Senior/hospice dog center to become a reality. As this project started to make its way into development, RR suffered a loss that to this day affects each one of us.

On June 4th 2020, one of our beloved senior dogs, Freddy, passed away due to an unknown illness. Having been in the rescue world for nearly a decade now, I've grown to accept that this unfortunately is a part of what we do. Sometimes the dogs we grow to love are taken away far too early, but all we can do in their last moments is show them that they are loved and be there to guide them into the next life. Freddy's passing left yet another hole in our rescue. Senior dogs are severely overlooked. Nobody really gives them a chance because of their old age and any conditions they may have. Although Freddy lived out his last years with nothing but love from us here at RR, I couldn't help but wish he would have found his forever home with the family that he deserved.

Freddy's passing pushed us even harder to prioritize senior dogs and give them the amazing life that they deserve even if we can't find them an adopter. In honor and in memory of Freddy, we dedicated ourselves to building and developing the senior dog neighborhood. The first home would go to a senior dog who seemed to be overlooked as well, just as Freddy was. Meet Nemo:

Nemo had been overlooked for years. We built the first tiny home just for him, so that never again would a senior dog live without having a proper home here at RR.

Each tiny home is completely furnished with its own kitchen, couch, bed, and everything needed for a human to accompany them in their final years.

Now that the first build is complete, it's time to install the solar panelling to provide power to the home. The solar system we'd like to install will power every tiny home that will be developed in the future as well as a rescue center building that will also be apart of the senior dog neighborhood. Due to permit restrictions we are not allowed to run a dedicated power line to each home. This means we must follow the proper procedure to have an off the grid solar set up.

We're a small rescue with limited funding, so we are calling out to the rescue community and friends to help us with the costs of the solar panel installation. We appreciate every dollar, share and every ounce of your support. Please help us give these pups the lives they deserve.
