Bring a refugee family to our town

Sointula is a small community on an island off the west coast of British Columbia. Our little community once relied on salmon fishing as a major industry, but that is no longer the case. However, in keeping with our history, we have remained diligent and our people courageous in keeping our town vibrant with activity in the arts, small industry, environmental care and community support. It is truly a wonderful place to live and raise a family. In light of all the misery happening across the globe and the fear and prejudice that has arisen, we want to share our little piece of harmonious life with a refugee family. Our wonderful country is allowing an influx of 25,000 refugees and we want to help. Many of us have committed to in kind donations of material goods and small amounts of cash, however our group of 5, Sointula Refuge, urgently needs a startup amount of cash in an account of $7000.
