Softball ACT Bushfire Relief

Donation protected
The bushfires currently tormenting NSW and Victoria have left a smoky haze across the ACT for the last 8 weeks.

During this time, Softball ACT's competitions and tournaments have been dangerously impacted, culminating in the cancellation of the John Reid Shield (Open Men's Australian Championships) in Canberra (relocated to Sydney).

The impact of moving the Championships is highly problematic financially for local softball.

As a state sporting organisation with a small but passionate membership, Softball relies heavily on tournament income for our survival.
The loss of Nationals in January will cost Softball ACT $50,000, whilst the impact of the smoke haze during pre-xmas competitions and tournament revenue adds another $10,000 in profit that is now not available.

This income is crucial to the ongoing sustainability of the sport in the ACT.

Please consider a donation to our sport if you would like to support a different angle to the devastation that has been wrought by these bushfires.

Sincerely,
