Humanitarian Aid for Afghanistan!

We are Benawayan, a project of an NGO in Afghanistan that has been engaged in various provinces since the 1990s to promote education, rule of law, democratization processes and an inclusive peace process in Afghanistan and the region. In the past we have implemented  projects in Afghanistan in partnership with the German Foreign Ministry, BMZ and UNICEF, to name a few. 

We have all witnessed the collapse of the Afghan government and the seizure of power in Afghanistan by the Taliban. The situation is devastating. In just a few days, there have been thousands of people who have fled. We cannot shake off the responsibility that Germany and the international community - more than ever - bear for the Afghan civilian population.

Our employees and partners are also in danger. Our network includes many civil society actors, especially women and young Afghans. No one knows what may come, but the past few days foreshadow what could happen in Afghanistan in the coming weeks.

We must provide support as long as we are able to do so. We can help people in need on the basis of our structures and Afghan partners. Especially to the tens of thousands who have fled to Kabul from other provinces or who are internally displaced.Due to a decentralized network and structure, which was built by and for Afghans, we are able to provide humanitarian aid on site. We are currently planning to distribute the following emergency aid in the form of donations through our project staff in order to provide basic supplies for the Afghan civilian population:

• Water & Food
• Clothing
• General donations, such as hygiene items, medicine, etc.
• Shelter

Wir sind Benawayan, ein Projekt einer NGO in Afghanistan, die sich seit den 90er Jahren in verschiedenen Provinzen für Bildung, Rechtsstaatlichkeit, Demokratisierungsprozesse und einen inklusiven Friedensprozess in Afghanistan und der Region einsetzt. In der Vergangenheit haben wir Projekte in Partnerschaft u.a. mit dem Auswärtigen Amt, dem BMZ und UNICEF implementiert. 

Wir alle haben den Zusammenbruch der afghanischen Regierung und die Einnahme Afghanistans durch die Taliban mitverfolgt. Die Lage ist verheerend. In nur wenigen Tagen gab es tausende von Menschen, die sich auf die Flucht begeben haben. Uns lässt die Verantwortung nicht los, welche Deutschland und die internationale Gemeinschaft - mehr denn je - für die afghanische Zivilbevölkerung trägt.

Auch unsere Mitarbeiter:innen und Partner:innen sind in Gefahr. Zu unserem Netzwerk gehören viele zivilgesellschaftliche Akteure, unter ihnen vor allem Frauen und junge Afghan:innen. Niemand weiß, was kommen mag, aber die vergangenen Tage lassen erahnen, was sich in den kommenden Wochen in Afghanistan abspielen könnte.

Was jetzt gilt, ist zu unterstützen, solange dies möglich ist. Wir können auf der Basis unserer Strukturen und afghanischen Partner:innen Menschen in Not helfen. Vor allem zu den nach Kabul zu Zehntausenden aus anderen Provinzen Geflüchteten bzw. Binnenvertriebenen. Aufgrund eines Netzwerkes, welches auch dezentral aktiv ist und einer Struktur, welche von und für Afghan:innen aufgebaut worden ist, können wir vor Ort humanitäre Hilfe leisten. Gezielt planen wir derzeit folgende Soforthilfe als Spenden durch unsere Projektmitarbeiter:innen zu verteilen, um die Grundversorgung für die afghanische Zivilbevölkerung zu gewähren:

• Wasser & Essen

• Kleidung

• generelle Spenden, wie z.B. Hygiene Artikel, Medizin etc.

• Unterkünfte
