Hi,
My name is Khushi Saigal. I am currently in the 11th grade and the president of a club called Learn to Live at my school. The primary purpose of my club is to promote youth development. Currently, we are raising money for an organization in Ponda, Goa, India called Sanjeevan Society for Youth Development. I  visited the organization last December, and I admire their initiatives. This organization has a vocational nursing school which teaches underprivileged girls from 11th and 12th grade Health Science. There are currently 38 students in the 11th grade and 33 students in the 12th grade. These girls come from all over Goa; some travel as much as 45 kilometers every day to reach the school.

Their parents' occupations range from farmers to housewives to fishermen. The average income of their parents per year ranges from about 36,000 to 50,000 rupees. This is equated to 565 to 785 dollars per year. The cost of this vocational course is approximately 10,000 rupees (160 $/year), but since these girls and their families cannot afford this, it is subsidized to approximately 1000 rupees (15 dollars) for them. Given the disparity between the actual cost of the course and the tuition, the school is in dire need of donations to maintain the course. Many of these girls who do take the course end up working as home nurses in which they are able to support their families with their monthly salary of 20,000 rupees (314 dollars), four times the amount their parents earn per month.

If you donate to this organization, you can help fund a girl's education so that they can support their families and earn up to 3,768 $ per year as opposed to their parents' average income that ranges from 565 to 785 $ per year.

Your donations will be directly going to the institution, specifically the higher secondary school. The funds would help pay for the teachers’ salary, electricity bills, and technology including computers, books, and bus fees. The organization is also looking to extend their building complex to create larger classrooms for the higher secondary school.

My goal is to raise $10,000 by June 2019. This way I can fund the difference the organization must pay ($141) for the 71 11th grade and 12th grade students. I would be extremely grateful if you could help me with my initiative and donate to this organization.
