Social Ark is in crisis. COVID19 has hit our young social entrepreneurs hard and we need your support.  Your support will ensure the continued success of social entrepreneurs from working class communities in East London.  The response from government doesn’t go far enough to support our social entrepreneurs so for the first time, Social Ark is asking for your help.  Your donations will enable us to do three things during this crisis: 1. Provide emergency support to our social entrepreneurs and their families 2. Support our social entrepreneurs where income has been lost or delayed for committed work 3. Enable the Social Ark programme to continue throughout this time and into the summer, helping our social entrepreneurs to rebuild. Social Ark is a charity based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets that supports young people from under-resourced communities to use their lived experiences to develop social businesses and community projects. Many of them have experienced poverty, a lack of education, disability, immigration, homelessness and the criminal justice system. We work with the local community, corporate volunteers and expert mentors who all contribute to the success of our programme.   At Social Ark there is no 'hard-to-reach' and the wrap-around care and support that we provide set us apart from other organisations. We value lived experience over formal qualifications and welcome all entrepreneurial ideas that are in line with our values. Our vision is for an equal and inclusive society where young people are judged for where they want to go, and not where they've been. COVID19 has hit that vision hard as government support doesn’t reach our social entrepreneurs and opportunities have been taken from them overnight.  Our mission is to equip young people from tough backgrounds with the skills, know-how and support to transform their lives and the communities around them. Our mission has been hit hard by COVID19 as our funds don’t cover such an extensive crisis and the charity bailout announced will not cover our needs either.    Our values are at the heart of everything we do. Inclusiveness, equality, respect and empowerment for the whole community - regardless of race, religion, class or social barriers. COVID19 gives us all the opportunity to share these values.
