It is with a humble heart I am writing this story to ask help from our friends and family. For those of you closest to me, you know that my father has been in and out of the hospital since February 2017 and is in the end stages of congestive heart failure. My mother had a stroke in August 2017 and has since been living in a nursing home to help regain the use of her right side.
I am happy to report that my mother has regained some of the use of her right side and is able to crochet again. My father however, has gotten worse, and the house has fallen into disrepair. They are having trouble paying for their bills and are behind on the nursing home. The house is currently not set up for the wheel chair access that my mother would need in order to return home. Sunny and I have been in Mississippi for the past few weeks and have made progress, but this is a monumental undertaking and we need professional help.
It is for these reasons that we are asking our family and friends to please consider donating what you can or sharing our story to help with some of these costs. The nursing home bill is currently $4,000 behind and we will need to pay to have someone come in to help with the house. We are setting our fundraising goal for $5,000 in hopes to cover both expenses. If we are so lucky to raise money over this amount, we would put it into an account to help pay for the regular expense of someone coming to the house once a week to help maintain it.
