Snyder 4-H Rebuilding Fund

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of October 15, 2021, several local fire departments responded to a structure fire at the Snyder 4-H clubhouse. The fire destroyed the clubhouse and storage shed behind the clubhouse.

Thankfully the fire fighters were able to save much of the old club records, photos, trophies, plaques, and scrapbooks that were stored in the clubhouse. We are working to preserve all of these.

The Snyder clubhouse was built in 1892 and served as a one-room schoolhouse until the 4-H club purchased the building from the school district for the sum of $1.

The clubhouse has been home to many generations of 4-H families. It has hosted Halloween parties and play practices, lock-ins and llamas, and was the meeting place for lifelong friendships. Our kids learned to balance checkbooks in this building and learned how to run a meeting.

This is where we make the best better.
This building is where we pledge our heads to clearer thinking, our hearts to greater loyalty, our hands to larger service, and health to better living for our club, our community, our country, and our world.

We have a goal to rebuild the Snyder 4-H clubhouse. The clubhouse hadn’t changed much since 1892 with the exception of electricity added in 1946 and an updated heating system added in more recent years. (No plumbing either!)
Our dream is to build a new building much in the same spirit of the old clubhouse, but with modern features and amenities to help our current generation of 4-Hers lead us into the future.

Your generous donation will help us meet our goal and give Snyder 4-H a new home.
