My name is
Darlene Hayden, Angels mom.
Angel is one of my rescue feral cats who chose my home and me to take care of him!! This was 6 years ago!
Hes only 7 years old.
He was a feral cat who I took in and watched him transform from a frightened little kitten to a happy, calm and loving cat!!
He has been so comfortable with his permanent home!
He actually sleeps with me every night!!! Right beside me.
He loves to play with his string and mouse!
It breaks my heart to see him suffer now!!
He's been in the vet hospital since Wednesday morning.
He stopped eating and drinking and became so weak!!
Never did I expect such a serious diagnosis!!
After bloodwork was done, it confirmed that Angel was suffering from kidney disease.
His #s were off the charts!
His kidneys were enlarged!
It was not looking good.
I gave them the ok to run an abdominal ultrasound.
It confirmed that Angel was suffering from kidney failure!
I knew it would be a wait and see if he responds to treatment.
I've paid them $,1650. for the initial deposit required.
I've since paid a total of
$2,300. for hospital stay and IV fluids and meds.
They are doing bloodwork daily to check his values on kidney levels.
He just started to eat and drink water! His numbers also came down!!
He is showing signs of improvement and a positive response to the treatment!!
So I don't want to stop it now!!
I'm so happy to see him looking stronger!! Hes lost a lot of weight and definitely requires more treatment for IV fluids etc.
The doctors said if he comes home too soon, he can have a relapse and wind up having to return to hospital!
I'd like to know he is getting the proper treatment that he needs now to get him stronger and keep him going in the right direction!
The thought of taking him home too soon due to lack of funds saddens me greatly!
I would greatly appreciate any donation for Angels continued care. He will need ongoing IV infusions daily, several meds to help his nausea and steroids to help the inflammation.
Ongoing bloodwork as well to check his numbers!!
The Total cost is unclear at the moment but it will at least be doubled by what I have already paid. Approximately $5,000 .
I know this is a difficult time for most of us, but anyone who is an animal lover can understand my feelings and need to HELP ANGEL FIGHT THIS KIDNEY DISEASE !
