Snarl 2022 Fundraiser

Donation protected
Snarl was founded in 2019 as an effort to publish and promote the work of marginalized creators with a connection to the Lawrence/Greater Kansas City area. Following the publication of our first print issue, we have now expanded our focus to marginalized writers and artists of any part of the world.

As a print and online journal, Snarl publishes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, artwork, and more. We are so grateful to the wonderful creators who contributed to our first three print issues, and look forward to featuring other great writers and artists in future issues!

As a journal that pays semi-professional rates and always has a free submission option, our need for financial support is great. Funds raised on GoFundMe go toward paying creators for their work (whether published in Snarl Online or in print), covering print costs for the print issue, and more. As you may have heard, paper prices have skyrocketed over the last year. While we absolutely love the printed form, these cost increases may affect our ability to print new issues twice yearly without raising our prices further or limiting our publication to mostly-online formats.

To learn more about Snarl or to get a sense of the work we publish, please visit our website. Thank you for your support!

Fundraiser Milestones:

$250 - if raised, we will be able to sustain our semi-profressional rates for contributors.

$500 - if raised, we will be able to continue printing two issues annually and continue to accept free submissions from marginalized writers and artists.

$750 - if raised, Snarl will be able to cover the cost of printing one issue, along with above results.

$1000 - if raised, Snarl will be able to expand our online and print publications to feature more creators, as well as revamp our website design for a better reading experience, along with above results.

$1,500 - if raised, we will be to pursue a special mini-issue or zine in early 2023.

$2,000 - if raised, we will be able to have a small reserve for future issues and endeavors including, potentially, a booth at the Association of Writers & Writing Programs annual conference.
