Hi, my name is Lily and I'm fundraising for my family and I. On July 16th at 3am I woke up to my sister screaming. Once I had opened the door all I saw was a red background and smoke all over the house. The smoke was so strong that I was coughing and having difficulty breathing. I quickly went to wake my parents up, fortunately we were all able to get out of the house safely including my two dogs, but we weren’t able to save anything from the house. Unfortunately we didn’t have insurance on the house so now we find ourselves having to start from zero. All of our clothes, shoes, blankets, pillows and personal items are ruined. The firefighters explained how it’s even dangerous going inside the house because it’s all covered in soot and it is very carcinogenic. As a result, nothing in the house is usable. We also find ourselves struggling to find a place to stay for the next months until our house is fixed up. My parents are in their sixties and my dad suffers from congestive heart failure, this has been very hard on them. I have lived my whole life here in Irving, this was my childhood home. I recently graduated from Jack E. Singley Academy but now I am an 18 year old college student, and I also find myself stressing out about my college expenses. My family and I would appreciate help during these unbearable times, any amount will help. Thank you!
