Family in need

Donation protected
Saturday, October 28, around 8:30am, my sister, her husband, and their three young children were sitting at a stoplight near their house when a drunk driver hit them going approximately 70mph. The entire family was taken by ambulance to 2 different hospitals. My brother-in-law was driving and the impact caused him to hit the back of his head on the rear-facing infant seat behind him, causing a softball-sized hematoma. My 5-year old niece and 3-year old nephew were sitting in the 3rd row and both got concussions and some seat belt burns. The 1-year old in the middle row received some seat belt burns as well. My sister was in the front passenger seat and it was determined after the first CT scan that she has a fracture in the C-2 vertebrae in her neck. She was immobilized and kept overnight while they determined whether she would need surgery, which she does not. However, she will be in a brace for at least 3 weeks and cannot lift her children or drive, along with most of her other tasks. My brother-in-law is on the verge of getting a job close to home, however this may throw a kink in the plans since he will be taking care of my sister and the kids for at least a few weeks now. The van they were driving was one they had just purchased about 5 weeks ago because they had been in another accident that totaled their last car in September. We are not the type to ask for help under normal circumstances, but this family has had a rough couple of years, and the two accidents in the last 6 weeks is causing even more financial strain for them. It will take some time for the insurance to get everything settled, and in the meantime they do not have a car that will fit all 3 borrowed car seats, not to mention the struggle to pay bills while my brother-in-law (who is currently self-employed) is taking care of the family. They live an hour away from the rest of the family, and while we are taking turns helping out where we can, we cannot be there all the time to allow him to work like he needs to. If anyone finds it in their hearts to help a family that has been struggling and has been hit with a few l hard knocks lately, I know they would greatly appreciate it!  As would the rest of us who are trying to help them and make sure the kids are taken care of.  We are so thankful they all walked away from this, and thank God for his mercy!  If you made it all the way through this, thank you! We appreciate the time you have already given.
