Smith Family Haiti Missions Trip

Donation protected
In November of 2010 I boarded a plane with my Pastor and friend Greg Rohlinger from Port-au-Prince Haiti to Miami.  As the plane took off and the island shrunk in the window pastor Greg looked out and said, “something big is going to happen here.”

Six weeks later a massive earthquake rocked the island, killing hundreds of thousands and leaving even more homeless.  Two weeks after that earthquake I was in a truck driving from the Dominican Republic into Haiti with rice and beans and other supplies for the orphanage and church we supported.  The images of brokenness and need will forever be written in my memory.

I made several more trips to Haiti in the following years and was always moved by the huge amount of ministry opportunities there.

Now, I’m going back!  I should say WE are going.  Our family has decided to be a part of a missions team from The Refinery Christian Church this summer.  The church will be sending 22 people to do work in the town of Cap Rouge, Haiti.    We will be 5 of those people.

In July, we will be traveling to the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.  We will help them build, teach them, encourage them, work with families, teens, children, and churches.  I am beyond excited about the opportunity to return and for my family to experience the incredible ministry we will be a part of.

We would like to ask for your support in this trip.  You can first support us by praying for our family and the team!  It will be physically, emotionally, and spiritually challenging.  We need your encouragement and prayer to be able to do it.

Secondly, you can support our trip financially.  We will need to raise over $5,000 as a family to be a part of the trip.  This seems like a lot, but it’s really not.  For God, this is nothing!  I am convinced that we have 50 of our friends and family members that can give $100 to support our trip.  Would you please consider being one of those 50 people?  Of course God works in ways that I don’t understand and sometimes a woman’s two pennies are the best offering!  If you cannot give $100 please consider what you can give and help in whatever way God leads you.
