Andy & Becca Smith Fire Fund

Help us to support the Smith family, who, on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 17, woke to a banging on their door. It was a massive fire! Becca and Andy rushed down to their barn in their PJs to do...or to try to do...whatever they could, but it was too late.

Flames and smoke had engulfed the entire barn, and within minutes it was all gone. While it wasn’t the home that the family lived in, it was home their many farm animals - 38 cows, 10 chickens and 5 cats. Among those that died were some of young animals, "the babies," who were so very dear to the family.

All of the animals' beds, food and medications; farming equipment; the family's winter barn clothes; kids' toys; and tools - and all the things needed to take care of a farm - were lost.

The family said that this "is so unbelievable" but that they have learned, even more than ever, "that 'He gives us beauty for ashes,'" and as painful as it was so see it all go, that they will rebuild their animals' home and "will build new memories in the process."
